The Most Boring Site on the Web...

I am posting our household inventory lists here.

Why?

Because I'm organizing our hoard, and we need a digital place to park the lists, you know, just in case of fire, tornado, flood, earthquake, theft, etc.

There will be nothing fancy here, perhaps a few pictures, occasional insights, mostly laborious lists of questionable possessions belonging to anonymous people who, in the greater scheme of things, really do not matter.

You might wonder why I'm doing this...

Because no one in my house wants to throw anything away, and I'm tired of looking at it--no--TRIPPING over it, so I have embarked on a long-term project of inventorying it, packing it up, and putting it out of sight and out of mind.

So when we die, our children can deal with it, but in a more organized fashion.

So if you LOVE reading tedious lists of other people's boring junk, then this is the place for you.

Otherwise, you would do well to move along.

But as long as you behave, you're still welcome...

;=)

Have a nice day!

A Note to Google About the New Blogger Platform-- :=(

The new Blogger platform has more bugs than a cockroach infestation.

Why do you guys mess with something that was working just fine? You are beginning to remind me of Microsoft whose motto seems to be "It's our way, or it's our way."

User experience should reflect ease of use, speed, and up-to-date features, NOT some programmer's idea of cool.

When developing features for the average user, PLEASE keep in mind that most of us do not understand complicated machine language.

KISS: Keep it simple and stupid!

Complaints so far:
1. All options used to be located on those nice clear tabs on ONE dashboard page. Now I have to click through several times to get to where I want to go. And each click through represents time wasted because of #3. NOT INTUITIVE AT ALL!!!

2. The feedback feature is a royal pain in the posterior--very cumbersome and slow, especially when you have to use it all the time.

3. Slow, Slower, and Slowest! Could loading be any slower? Features that used to zip right up now take forever to load. Geez...

4. The Preview Feature does not work. At all. It loads up an empty page. Because the preview feature doesn't work, I have to check my post in Compose, which often changes my codes and spacing, and then I have to go back and redo.

5. The dashboard and text box are difficult to read: small gray text against a white background is not conducive to my older eyes.

6. The scheduling feature does not work. I had to go back and publish my scheduled posts by hand--AFTER the scheduling date. I might as well keep them in draft mode.

7. In order to create line breaks after hitting "enter," I had to go to "options" and add in it in. Really? Do you really want to have your publishers write their posts in one big solid paragraph as a default? This is particularly problematic when cutting and pasting text, which I do a lot, given that I write many of my posts and lists off-line.

8. The numbering feature in Compose is buggy, so I had to number my complaints manually. In fact, the Compose option itself is buggy.

9. One used to be able to spell-check in html mode; why did you take this away? Now I have to spell-check in Compose, which results in changed codes and spacing.

10. I can't seem to add gadgets and the layout page does not load completely.
I will probably have to add to this list.
